CLCA San Francisco Bay Area 2022 Landscape Awards

On Saturday, June 18, CLCA San Francisco Bay Area had their 2022 Landscape Awards banquet. With over 80 people in attendance, the evening started with a cocktail hour at 6 at Michael’s at Shoreline in Mountain View. A buffet dinner followed with before the awards were presented.





Before dinner, Girvin Peters and Kenneth Coverdell presented introductory remarks along with a tribute to Fred Hanker.


After dinner, SFBAC president, Juan Carlos Esparza, welcomed everyone to the event and singled out the key players that made the night successful, along with SFBAC board and committee members. Andrew Tuckman, of SiteOne, had done a wonderful job of organizing not only the awards banquet, but also coordinating the entries and judging. Andrew was not present since he is recovering from being ill.


Then it was awards time. At the last minute notice, Steven Veltri from Hunter took on the job of master of ceremonies.

In the category of installations, the following companies won awards: Bayscape Landscape Management, Inc., Blue Sky Designs, Inc., Frank and Gossman Landscape Contractors, Gardner’s Landscaping, Lifescape Custom Landscaping, Inc., Medallion Landscape, Paradise Garden and Landscaping, Scenic Scrapes, Inc., Terra Landscape, and Urbanscape Landscape Company.

In the category of residential, small multi residential, large multi residential, and medium commercial maintenance, the awards winners were Bayscape Landscape Management, Cagwin and Dorward, Gothic Landscape, Medallion Landscape, and Urbanscapes Landscape Company.

The Excelsior award when to the first-time entrant with projects scores in the 10% of categories and the winner was Scenic Scapes. Herbert S. Frank Memorial award went to Frank and Grossman Landscape Contractors, Inc.

In a break between awards, the auxiliary president, Leslie Peters, explained that they had raised over 7000.00 for student scholarships. A raffle drawing took place for three gift baskets.



The evening concluded with the Sweepstakes winners receiving their awards. Individual images of the awards winners and their projects will appear in future blogs.




Sweepstakes winner in the category of commercial installation was Colony Landscape and Maintenance, Inc. For outstanding landscape management, Gothic Landscape was honored. The most outstanding in the residential installation categories went to Frank and Grossman. Frank and Grossman also won the award for most outstanding of all projects.
